New
INet: An Expanded Intermediary Network Focus
- To promote
the values of intermediaries as they seek to support transitions
for youth to adulthood in local communities
- To align
frameworks and approaches of national organizations seeking to support
local communities and their work
- To define
and set quality standards for intermediary practice
- To promote
and support the development of emerging intermediaries
- To build
community awareness and public will around addressing the issues
facing youth as they transition into adulthood
- To create
and inform a progressive policy environment
- To support
subnetworks of intermediaries and their thought partners in the areas
of extending the classroom to the workplace, and bringing workplace
partners to our schools
- To support
the development of alternative education options for our nation’s
youth
- To provide
multiple pathways to college and careers
- To ensure
educational and career development opportunities are targeted at
out of school and out of work youth
- To build
and support out of school time options that support school and career
success
- To document
and share quality practices
- To improve
practice among network members in the field
The
INet will accomplish this work by
- Aligning
its work with compatible networks and their thought partners
- Expanding
the INet frameworks to embrace and reflect those working with targeted
populations of young people.
- Engaging
in leadership and professional development activities to promote
diversity among intermediary organization leadership.
- Supporting
a community of practice among the INet membership.
